We Are An Official Label!

As some of you may have already heard, the masterminds here at The War Lab have put our heads together and created a legit record label - "War Lab Records LLC". And who was the first artist we signed? Canibus. This highly respected and dominant emcee has joined forces with "The War Lab" as of September 2009. Already in the works before any contracts were on the table was his new solo LP "Melatonin Magik" which is set to drop November 24th 2009 and will feature 3 other War Lab emcees - DZK, Warbux, and myself (F.a.T), as well as several other big name artists. As I'm sure you can imagine we have been very busy in 2009 which explains my lack of posting. Also in the works is our brand new website http://www.warlab.com which should be completed in the upcoming months. Our forums are live with over 2k registered and active users so if you are into discussing hip hop/rock/movies/your personal life(lol)/etc come check out http://www.warlab.com/forum

VA STRONG TOUR!!

My good folks over at Inner Loop Records K-Beta and BetaRaz from BetaRaz Ent invited me to guest appear at one of the many stops along the VA STRONG TOUR. This show was at Jammin Java in Vienna, VA. Performance's by (to name a few) K-Beta & Sketch aka Black Irish, Tony Moon, Clara Street, Poe Mack, and many more.

My manager, Sam, entered me into a contest hosted by Ourstage and Radio One, to see who was the hottest up and coming artist in VA. There were 300+ artists in the competition. Sam called me one morning to inform me that he had entered me into a contest, and that I had won lol. DZK & I got to open for the tour @ the Richmond International Raceway infront of 15k people. It was pretty incredible.
Having to *bleep* myself out in the 2nd verse was weird but it was FOR THE KIDS!

We arrived @ Radford about 12:30, too early to check into our hotel we decided to head to the party. When we arrived we found out the DJ didn't have the right equipment we needed to run our microphones so we had to run to the music store in downtown Radford to rent a mixer. The music store had rented out all available equipment they had and sent us to Radioshack up the street. Radio Shack didn't have what we needed on location but said the Roanoke branch did. So we hopped back in the car and headed to Roanoke (40 mins away). While driving to Roanoke I came up on a car that appeared to be a police officer, I slowly came up beside it to find out it was infact a police officer. I slowed down to get behind him but it was too late. He slowed down as well and turned his lights on, pulling me over. He said he clocked me with a "rear radar gun" (cough bullshit) going 78 in a 65 and gave me a ticket. While giving me a ticket he discovered my drivers license had been suspended for failing to pay a parking ticket. He took my ID and asked Infinite Skillz to take the wheel. We finally made it to Radio Shack, got the equipment we needed and headed back to Alpha Sig.

Sun beaming down with minute intervals of light rain we hooked up our mics and got ready to perform. Having to run all over the world to get the equipment worked in our favor because the party had grown from about 50 to close to 250+. We got on the mics and started introducing ourselves. Off in the distance a group of about 10 police officers and 2 K9's waited. As soon as we finished announcing who we were and started the first beat the police swarmed he party and everyone scattered like roaches leaving us standing by ourselves with the mics in our hand at a now empty party. It was completely ridiculous. There were no fights, nothing crazy going on, they just decided to ruin my day.

Talks of performing indoors a few houses down occured but nothing ever became of it. We were all very let down. Still completely sober at 8pm (I cannot perform intoxicated) I decided the performance just wasn't happening and I should enjoy the rest of the night and get over it. And so I did.

I have attached a few pictures of the original party where we were supposed to perform as well as the rest of the night which involved some naked slip n slide (I will not be posting all of these :x )

Hopefully next time things will be a little more organized and we can get down.
